Yes, early clinical evidence is promising. In an observational study across three US hospitals (Famorca et al., 2019), none of the 30 men managed with the QuickChange Men's Incontinence Wrap developed a hospital-acquired pressure injury or IAD. All 9 men managed with adult briefs alone developed an incontinence-related pressure injury. The wrap's superabsorbent gel draws urine away from the skin and holds up to 500 mL (17 oz), so the skin isn't left sitting in moisture.

For many bedbound or chairbound men, yes. QuickChange is a non-invasive external wrap. Nothing is inserted into the urethra, which removes the indwelling-catheter route for catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI), and no adhesive sheath is applied to the penis, so there is no adhesive-related skin damage. Clinicians should still decide case by case, since some patients need a catheter for urinary retention or precise output measurement, although inputs and outputs can be measured utilizing QuickChange.

QuickChange is designed to work on its own. For patients who also have bowel incontinence, some facilities pair it with an outer brief; agree on that approach with your leadership team, because layering absorbent products is restricted in some settings.

QuickChange is designed for men with urinary incontinence who are bedbound, chairbound or minimally mobile. It is especially useful for patients at risk of IAD or pressure injury, patients for whom catheters are uncomfortable or unsuitable, and patients who are hard to turn for brief changes. It is one size fits all. It is not designed for men who walk, because movement can shift the wrap out of position; QuickChange does not currently offer an ambulatory product.

Yes, with adapted techniques. For a small or retracted penis, slide the pointed flap under the scrotum and close the straight flap over it, so the wrap cups the anatomy. For a buried penis, such as one hidden under an abdominal fold, use two wraps: one around the scrotum and a second over the penile opening. For scrotal edema, the same flaps form a supportive bowl that cradles the swollen scrotum. Check fit and skin at every wrap check in these patients.

Clinical instructions.

Application takes three steps:

1. Apply skin protectant per the care plan, then slide the wrap under the penis, white side up, with the rounded edge toward the patient's head.
2. Fold the pointed flap over the penis at about a 45-degree angle.
3. Fold the straight flap up over the wrap and pinch the hook fastener to the inner flap to secure it.

Check the wrap about every two hours, recheck after repositioning, and change it whenever it is wet.

Yes. Because the wrap sits only on the front of the body, one caregiver can change it in about 60 seconds without lifting or rolling the patient.
